DCI Constructed Rating Category Sideboard Staff Since the September 18th DCI ratings publication, the Extended and Standard rating categories have been combined into one Constructed rating category. The constructed rating category will include tournaments that use the Standard, Extended and Block Constructed format. All matches that were listed as Extended or Standard are now listed as Constructed for all players. For example, if a player had 12 Standard tournaments and 4 Extended tournaments in their DCI rating history, that player would now have 16 Constructed tournaments instead. The DCI Composite rating is the average of a player's Constructed rating and Limited rating. The Vintage rating category, which includes Type 1 and Type 1.5 tournaments, remains unaffected. The Constructed rating will be used to issue invitations to all constructed format events beginning with 2000 Pro Tour--Chicago. Constructed ratings will be used to issue byes at constructed Grand Prix beginning with Grand Prix--Kyoto and Phoenix (November 11, 2000). The former Standard and Extended ratings from August 31, 2000 will be used to issue additional invitations to the next two Standard format and Extended format Pro Tours. Players who would have received invitations to those four tournaments based on their August 31 Standard or Extended ratings will still receive invitations in addition to the players who receive invitations based on their Constructed ratings.
